Loneliness
"God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains."
From One Trucker to Another
There's a specific kind of lonely that lives in a sleeper berth. It's not just being alone. It's being alone while everyone else is sitting down to dinner. The lie of loneliness is that nobody notices. God notices. Every mile.
On the Road
Fight it with routine. Read a chapter. Call one person. Text a driver you haven't heard from. Loneliness feeds on isolation. Break the isolation, and it starves.
Prayer
Father, You promised never to leave me. Make that promise real to me tonight in this cab. Amen.
Take This With You Today
Alone is a location. Lonely is a lie.
