From One Trucker to Another
Distance is hard on a marriage. Distance is hard on kids. Distance is hard on friendships. Trucking asks a lot of the people who love you, and it asks a lot of you to hold those bonds together from two thousand miles away. It can be done. It has been done. But it takes work.
On the Road
Call at the same time every day if you can. Ask questions and actually listen. Don't spend the call venting about dispatch — ask about their day first. Small consistent contact beats one long call a week.
Prayer
Lord, protect the people I love while I'm gone. Help me stay present in their lives even from this cab. Amen.
