Respecting New Drivers
"Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
From One Trucker to Another
You remember your first month. You remember the mistakes you made backing into a hole nobody should have asked you to hit. Somebody either helped you or ran you down for it. Be the one who helps. Every veteran was once the rookie holding up the dock.
On the Road
When you see a new driver struggling to back, get out and give him a hand — don't get on the CB and roast him. A minute of your time can build a driver who lasts twenty years.
Prayer
Lord, help me remember where I came from. Make me the veteran I wish I'd had. Amen.
The industry lives or dies by how the veterans treat the new blood.
